Mila Corsunova, a native Russian, graces this showcase post. More than just a pretty face, Mila is smart and ambitious too.
Mila was born in Russia, lived for some time in America and now makes her base in Manchester. Despite her modelling credentials, Mila has an academic background in economic studies and marketing.
Mila is inspired by music and whilst she listens to pop and house and jazz, her real musical passion is in the classical tradition, specifically Mozart, Beethoven and fellow Russian composer and pianist, Dmitri Shostakovich. She also loves film and cites cinematic classics like Gone With The Wind and Casablanca as two of her all-time favourites.
Shooting At The Velvet Hotel.
This shoot was done in late March at Manchester’s Velvet Hotel in one of their superb Velvet King rooms. There is so much colour in the room, I didn’t want to use flash lighting as this can cause a certain amount of colour bleaching. On this occasion, I went for cool temperature continuous lighting which has considerably less impact on the richness of the room’s colour.
One downside to continuous lighting is that the camera lens stays open for marginally longer and so there is more potential for image blurring if the model moves before the image is finally captured.
These images are pretty much straight off the camera with very little post-production.
